Intercol's hot melt adhesives are used for a wide variety of applications on many different substrates.  The versatility of our range means that one grade of adhesive may be suitable for a wide variety of boards, machines and machine speeds.

Pharmaceutical and healthcare packaging

The prime packaging application is carton sealing.  Other packaging applications may include: construction of patient packs and case sealing.  For pharmaceutical and healthcare there are a number of key issues which have an impact on packaging and therefore the choice of adhesives: security, counterfeiting and tamper evidence.

With the market for convenience foods world-wide continuing to develop, so too have the demands for hot melt adhesives to adhere to treated or surface coated boards. 

The adhesives are expected to maintain the integrity of the bond at temperatures down to -40°C and withstand severe shock treatment or rough handling.

Sift proof primary packs

Intercol  has developed hot melts for sift-proof packaging of powders, detergents, cereals, foodstuffs, pet foods, seeds and other similar products.

The unique flow characteristics of the adhesives enable clean and accurate application at speeds of up to 500 cartons/minute to give a complete seal.
