In bookbinding we find two main applications for adhesives

1. Spine glueing: binding the pages together.
2. Side glueing: finishing the interior and the cover of the book.

Spine glueing

We are familiar with multiple types of book binding machinery (brands en types). A good known machinebuilder is Müller Martini. Everey machine can have it's specific parameters that require special adhesives, but most machines will run with Intercol's hot melt HM 776. HM 776 is a thermoplastic hot melt, we have several alternatives when required, including PolyUrethane (PUR) hot melts. Using PUR hot melts requires specific knowledge about machinery and adhesives.

Side glueing

Side glueing adhesives are mostly adhesives with a very long open time or even pressure sensitive adhesives.
