Intercol Adhesives - FDA - BfR - SML and more |
Intercol supplies adhesives, mainly waterbased and hot-melt to leading food manufacturers and suppliers of packaging and process equipment for e.g. aseptic packaging of milk, juice and related products.
Example Applications are as follows:
•Packaging Carton and case sealing; Tray erection
•Cap adhesives
•Several 'position and bond' applications
•Straw attachment
1. Packaging hot melt adhesives
Carton and case sealing hotmelts and tray erection are standard packaging applications
normally on simple board substrates but also more wide bonding hot melt grades are available for requirements such as chilled storage conditions. Machine speed will also guide adhesive selection.
Intercol Futura 1
meets most needs.
(Intercol Futura 51 can also be used if a single
adhesive for straws and cartons is required.)
to locate and hold the cap in position during production and to allow the carton to
be opened Intercol has proven adhesives for these applications.
Downstream in the production process the package will be glued
on to the carton by hot melt.
E.g. our adhesive is applied to the plastic caps by wheel applicator
which generally favours a higher viscosity than Jetting applications
than the adhesive used on Cap machines (which is jetted).
INtercol EHM 9262 is the recommended adhesive for the Cap
application on drinking cartons. It has a long adhesive open time, high
molten tack and a high viscosity to give gap filling properties. It performs even when cartons are stored at low ambient temperatures. Suggested application temperatur
e is 180°C.
Some parts of drinking cartons are made of HDPE material, and a
standard opening, made of aluminium. The ring pull is attached
to
the Tab. The Cap is bonded to the carton by hot melt.
INtercol EHM 9348
shows excellent adhesion on demanding substrates at low temperatures combined with
good heat resistance
and a low viscosity to minimise stringing on jet applications.
3. Straw attachment hot melt adhesive
Intercol has
one
grade for
all
straw attachment applications
. The adhesives need to bond the
straw wrapper to the polyethylene coated carton board.
